Personally I think the ‘Duplication’ thing in network marketing business is overrated, because not every team member can duplicate or are comfortable with the upline’s marketing techniques.
I am sure of this because my relationship with one of my team members was almost strained because he regularly criticizes my method of generating leads, quoting to me what the so called guru authors wrote in their books ‘Do not try to re-invent the wheel’. Not even when I started recording success did he agree with me that my method is better considering that he is still struggling to get by in his MLM business. So how can such team members duplicate your process when they are bent on keeping to the old school method of prospecting?

My point is, lay out the plan, and try to guide your team members along. For the ones who do not believe in your method or are bent on keeping to the old school method, all you can do is support them in their methods by regularly encouraging them and assisting them in any way you can but do not go ahead to build a website and try to provide content for them in other to duplicate the process. Network marketing business is about leveraging on others efforts, when you do all the work yourself, you are talking away the one strong objective of network marketing which is to ‘employ others in other to get more done’

Moreover people have to be responsible for themselves at some point, you are not helping a friend when you give him a fish, you can only help him by teaching him how to fish.

Your duty as a team leader is to provide step by step guide to success and assist them in anyway possible to achieve them but not taking over the business from them, that is not helping them

For your team members who are following your foot steps support them by linking to them and writing about them and assist them in any area (s) they are having problems.

Self Discipline: As an independent business man or woman with no one to answer to, we could easily get carried away and lose focus; that is why it is important to set some goals.

At a time I realized with so many things to do online, it gets overwhelming that I don’t know where to start, so I end up doing nothing by the end of the day. So I decided to start writing a weekly schedule. I write one every Sunday night of my everyday’s target Monday – Sunday. Since I started doing that I have become more focused and I try to achieve at least 70% of each day’s target.
So set goals for yourself and think of ways to achieve them.

Develop yourself: Learn new things that can help you expand your internet network business.

Buying Leads: Some network marketers have taken to buying leads as a shortcut to generating leads themselves. But is buying leads really the shortcut or the long?
First this leads are not targeted leads because they did not show interest in your niche or subscribed to your newsletter, though they might really be seeking business opportunities but they know nothing about yours to be interested in it. So you will still have to start calling them up and chasing them, which is the same as cold calling. Why waste money to buy leads you are not sure will even be interested in your business? If you want to do the cold calling, at least do it without wasting money.

If you want to generate leads through attraction marketing, then do it properly and get free targeted leads from search engines. People who search on network marketing online and directed to your site are targeted leads because they either are already into MLM business and are seeking help to succeed or they are yet to join the business but wants to know more about it, either way, it benefits it. The ones not yet succeeding could read your article and see you as an expert in the niche and people always like associating with the experts/gurus. He could leave is former company for yours.

The ones that are yet to join the business are even easier to get. They no nothing of the business and will believe the first article that reaches out to them.
So instead of buying leads, create a website and submit some interesting content and you are in business.

It is important you know that without content you can’t run your network marketing business online and you cannot use attraction marketing model.

To use attraction marketing model for your network marketing business you have to have some knowledge of your product to be able to give information and advice on your niche. And NO you don’t have to be an expert to give advice on your niche just no a little more than the other guy. But you must present yourself as an expert in your field so your customers trust your advice because that is the whole essence of attraction marketing.

If you can not write because you are not good at it or don’t just have the time, you can freelance your article writing to Freelancers
When searching for a freelance writer online, outline how you want your article written, subject, number of pages, search engine friendly etc. Please do not offer any cash until the article is sent to you and you are satisfied with it. If you are really satisfied with the method of writing of the freelancer you can consider keeping him for future jobs.

Note though that readers are more drawn to personal articles, articles that seem to reach out to them, that tell them they are not alone and guide them through their problems. It builds a relationship that is of trust and that you hardly get from articles written by someone else.

However you get your content, it must be valuable and unique positioning yourself against competitors. Don’t be a copycat; write what you are sure of and not just what the guru’s are saying. If you don’t know about what you are writing on you might not be able to satisfy your readers when the questions start coming in.
Write like you are talking to a friend; tell your experience. Experience they say is the best teacher, only experience can prove what works and what doesn’t. Just like no one can convince me now that ‘cold calling’, the old school form of MLM prospecting works because my experience has long proven otherwise. So now when I talk about it I am more sure of what I am saying not just following the crowd.

You have a large list of customers who trust you and hence trust product or business opportunity you present to them

Your customers and uplines become drawn to you because you went the extra mile and showed you honestly care about them

You join the list of search engine favorites and they reward you by sending tons of free traffic to your site and when you have tons of traffic, you will make money online no matter how stupid your niche might be. When your niche is network marketing you can not begin to imagine how much wealth you can create

Sites will link to your articles/contents

People will want to advert on your site, creating room to make extra income

You stand to get leads and eventual sales from free referrals

Network marketing or MLM business is all about lead generation, the more leads you have, the higher your chances of becoming a success in the business.

If you once partnered with one of the giants in the MLM industry but never succeeded, it is most likely because you used the ‘old school’ method of generating MLM leads which is the ‘cold calling’, prospecting to any and everybody including your relatives until you become a pain in the ass trying to sell your products to them and strain your relationship.

The main reason why this method of lead generation is not working for most network marketers is because people don’t like been sold, no matter the benefits they stand to gain from the product or opportunity they will refuse to see it when you persuade them to buy or join a program. To them you are just another selfish and self centered guy trying to make money off them and don’t really care whether it benefits them or not

You simply attract people to you with your free genuine information and later offer them your product which could be a business opportunity.

The best place to use attraction marketing is on the internet because it provides you with a much larger audience and you have different ways to publish your information. Major ones are blogs, websites, and web 2.0 (social networking sites)

You can make a short video on how to succeed in network marketing and put it on youtube where thousands of people will view it and you get almost immediate response.

But I encourage you to bring your business online, it provides so many avenues for lead generation that you can explore and take your business to the next level. Internet is about mass communication, being able to publish or broadcast your message.
You can create a squeeze page that asks visitors to opt in (name and email addresses) promising a free pack information in other to build your list. The money especially in the case of multi level marketing business is in the list, the larger your list, the greater your chances to success. And you can continually send your subscribers helpful information, building relationship and trust.

I wish I could post by reply but it is rather long. The summary is that I told him possible reasons why he didn’t succeed in his previous MLM business, what to look out for when choosing a network marketing business and since he asked that I suggested a company to him so I suggested one and asked him to do his own research. I had done my own research so I was sure he would be impressed with his findings. But note that even when he asked me for suggestion, I didn’t directly ask him to join the company (the one I am with) rather I suggested he carry out his out research about the company and if he his impressed I will be glad to have him in my team. So at the end it was his decision to join and I didn’t have to start convincing him. This is the professional way of doing business whether it is network marketing or not. You must understand that you are offering people a life changing opportunity, a chance to financial freedom, so you do not have to persuade or coerce them to join your business, it underestimate your business. Moreover people like to make up their own minds so let them do their research and make a decision.

In my few years of experience in the multi level marketing industry I have come to realize that people don’t appreciate it or are skeptical when you take offers to them no matter how great the offer sounds but when you make them come to you by presenting yourself as an expert they are very quick to action. I know this because my team member that I quoted earlier called me some few days after getting my replied and said: “I am in a bank now and I will like to pay for a sign up package, how much do I have to pay to join at the Executive level?” I was honestly surprised, because I had been doing the cold calling and practically chasing people to partner with a company I believe so much in but got no sign up and now I got a sign up at the highest level without putting any effort except write the articles that he read, I didn’t even have to meet him face to face. The result of that single sign up was a fast start bonus of $200, and at the end of the month I earned a percentage commission on his purchase of Team Volume Commission (TVC) and I will continue to earn commission from all his effort in the business for the rest of his career with the company doing nothing than guiding him to success in the business. Tell me how many businesses are this lucrative and interesting.

This is why I keep saying that network marketing business is a goldmine that is not really been tapped into. If you partner with a company with a good track record, innovative products and compensation plan, you cannot imagine how much wealth can be created.

Areas to look Deep into when Choosing an MLM Company

The subject “How to choose a network marketing company” is very important to network marketers, hence this article. This is the first step that will determine whether or not you will succeed in a multi level marketing business and it is a step that should be taken seriously because if you miss it here no matter the hard work you put in, if the company is wrong for you, in terms of track record and compensation plan, you will not be able to build a good residual income

So before you join that mlm company, look into the following areas:

The Company: Find out the track record of the company. What drives the company (goals and objectives)? Do they have prospect for future growth and expansion? What is the reputation of those that make up the management team? How old is the mlm company?

Some of the answers to these questions can be gotten from the internet. So do a thorough research, find out what people are saying about the company. Go to www.mlm.com, there are over 200 MLM companies listed there alphabetically according to companies names. But be careful when doing this because some people say unprofaned things about some multi level marketing companies just to promote theirs.
To get some honest answers it is advisable you call or visit the company to find out how things work.

It is not advisable to join a decade old mlm companies just because they are one of the giants in the industry. If you do chances are you will not go far in the company because the wealth creation opportunity must have reduced, the opportunity must have saturated.
So it’s better to join start-up companies where your potential for wealth creation is huge but you have to be careful when joining start-ups, according to an estimate by Inside Network Marketing by author Leonard Clements, over 96 percent of start-ups fail within their first year.
So before joining a start-up company that is less than two years old make sure you look into it management team, its strategy for growth expansion and financial status.

The Product: Is it certified, and by what bodies? Is the packaging attractive enough to draw attention? How do they have just a single product or many? Will it be acceptable? And is there a market for it? Is it affordable?
MLM companies with consumable products have been found to do better because there is a constant order for it. If they are offering services there should be an ongoing fee, such as insurance premiums to ensure a continuing stream of commission to stay in business.
Also a network marketing company with just one product wouldn’t go far. They need different products to draw different age group to them and keep up with distributors commissions.

The Compensation Plan: This is usually the part most independent distributors are interested in. What is their commission like? Does it encourage teamwork? Can you build a residual income on it? Does the plan include incentives in form of awards? (Car, all expense paid vacation etc) And does it have leverage bonus, because leverage bonus is a good way of residual income building.
There are different types of compensation plans and they all have their good points and bad points. Some are designed with the little guy in mind while others are designed with the big business builders in mind. Look for a pay plan that is fair to both guys

Marketing Supporting: Do they have a support system in place to help distributors in marketing? Let a website, conference calls, business manuals, DVD presentation on the business opportunity, magazines with experiences of successes in the business and can you have an international business?

I will explain this last point because it is very important. If an MLM company has branches all across the world and a website where people can sign up, it means that you can be in US and send a lead from UK or any other country where the company has a branch to the company’s website to sign up and you still get your commission on that person’s effort in your bank account in your country. That makes you an international business person even without leaving your country you can make money from other countries. Imagine a network marketing company spread over 40 countries? It means you can do business and make money from each of those countries and from the comfort of your home by using the internet and the attraction marketing model. Amazing right? Don’t give this point up for anything because you will only be limiting yourself.

Once you find an MLM company that score well in the above points, then act fast and position yourself with the company by registering with them without procrastination because network marketing business is about numbers and if you do not act fast you could reduce the potential of money that you can make
